Kinks/Permissions

CHARACTER NAME: Mitth'raw'nuruodo / Thrawn
CHARACTER SERIES: Star Wars extended universe

[OOC]

Backtagging: Yep.
Threadhopping: Go for it.
Fourthwalling: Would prefer you ask first, but we can probably work something out.
Offensive subjects (elaborate): None for me.

[IC]

Hugging this character: Go for it. He might react with violence if he perceives it as in his interests to be intimidating or to threaten, but we can communicate on that.
Kissing this character: See above.
Flirting with this character: Go for it.
Fighting with this character: Go for it. We can work out who wins OOC or by dice roll or something.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Just ask first. I'm pretty much cool with terrible shit being done to him, but would prefer to know beforehand. Unless permission is already given.
Killing this character: Ask first!
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Go for it, no need to ask. Assume anything said in ooc text or brackets or what-have-you is fair game.

Warnings: Thrawn is not that great of a person! He is willing to do anything necessary to pursue his ultimate goals.

He is also basically the Sherlock Holmes of art and military tactics.

[SMUT]

Dominant. 98% asexual, but vaguely intrigued by both men and women. The remaining 2% is probably 1.5% women and .5% men, as far as genuine attraction goes. The way he's intrigued will probably lead him to be somewhat detached in sex, using fingers, toys, orders (he has a great command voice) instead of having sex with someone directly.

Definitely not (OOC preferences): Violent non-con, mutilation, death, bathroom play.
Yes: F/M, M/M, multi, vaginal, anal, oral, frottage, D/s (dominant side), bondage, sadomasochism (whipping, caning, spanking, knifeplay), toys, heavy kink (sounding, stretching/oversize penetration, heavy bondage, pushing past limits, mild cock & ball torture). Control is a big thing.
Maybe: Not sure about dub-con. He probably wouldn't push it, unless there was a reason to, and it's not really a direction I want to go in. Anything else that I haven't thought of. But I'll probably be okay with it.

[FOR ME]

Since Thrawn is such a perceptive character, and such a smart one, it would help me a great deal if you could take a moment and fill out this permissions form!

I know the questions make it seem like I'm looking for an essay. I do apologize; it's hard to figure out exactly what he would know! But feel free to answer with as short answers as you need to. If you feel like he wouldn't be able to perceive anything, then just let me know. I'm fine with it.

Thank you in advance!

Your Character: Haku
Canon: Naruto
What appearance/behavioral cues might Thrawn be able to pick up on?: Acts in a rather peaceful manner for the most part, but is typically at least a bit tense in muscle in case he has to fight or flight. Clothing-wise he's usually seen in more feminine clothing/colors or ones that are more neutral. He also might cringe a bit from time to time due to the scar over his heart he received when he died as it gets pain pangs every now and then. Behavioral he's very calm and generally soft toned, though very obviously sizing up whoever he is speaking to and taking note of everything about them that he can.
What are some ways that are especially effective in manipulating your character?: Threats will never work with him, ever, in fact they'll get him to resist more and fight back. However, he does have an air of seeming lost and without a direction when left on his own. Thus anything manipulative towards giving him a purpose is generally the best way to do things.
What is your character's taste in art, and what does that say about them?: He's very, very partial to flowers and plants, particularly herbs when it comes to plants in general. He also tends to favor bright things and nature in general. Avoids dark things and violent things like the plague.
Is there anything in particular you want him to figure out?: Other than the needing a purpose thing (he considers himself as a tool in canon) there's not much else at the moment.
Is there anything you do not want him to figure out? Nope. Everything is pretty much free-game.
Anything else?: Haku is an assassin character and thus will be trying to study him just as much as he'd study him.

Heh, I'm always up for doing anything and everything with him.

He's an assassin, yes and in the broadest sense of the word. With his universe he uses chakra/life energy to make different attacks (his particular bloodline allows him to make ice and he's been shown to use it to make ice needles to attack someone, ice mirrors to confuse enemies, and an ice dome for protection). He also mainly attacks via those, physical fighting (using speed to his advantage) and using weaponry if necessary. But even then he usually uses senbon (acupuncture needles basically) to hit pressure points to kill or incapacitate someone.

In canon he and his master took on different jobs and killed anyone that got in their way/was a target in exchange for money or what-have-you.

Your Character: Elena
Canon: Final Fantasy VII
What appearance/behavioral cues might Thrawn be able to pick up on?: UHH. Really, in appearances she probably gives off a slightly OCD vib when it comes to keeping herself neat and tidy when in her Turks uniform (basically a black suit type of thing) and while in that uniform is usually very bussiness-like. By that I mean she stands tall, muscles particularly tensed and ready to strike if given half a second to, and very much a blood-thirsty thing. When not in the uniform or not on duty she's far more relaxed and kind of a bubbly and slightly ditzy to a fault.
What are some ways that are especially effective in manipulating your character?: ie: Being a Turk threats do not work on her and will get retaliation instead. Though using her insecurities about her being good enough or being strong enough is pretty easy to pick on.
What is your character's taste in art, and what does that say about them?: Firearms. Firearms and more violent depictions tend to be things that give her a rush. Nature is very rarely shown in any art she likes, any background things tend to be very business-like or city-like scapes. Lots of dark colors and lots of red.
Is there anything in particular you want him to figure out?: I got nothing right now.
Is there anything you do not want him to figure out? Everything's pretty free game.
Anything else?: Being a Turk she's a bodyguard/assassin/whatever else and typically would not go fight someone by herself or go into a trouble situation without at least one other person with her.

Your Character: Dean Winchester
Canon: Supernatural
What appearance/behavioral cues might Thrawn be able to pick up on?: Some lapsed military training in his stature, perhaps. A hunter's eye when he's not being mind controlled or drugged out. Sharp reflexes. He dresses like someone who gets torn up pretty often and needs to hide the blood.
What are some ways that are especially effective in manipulating your character?: Threatening his brother is top of the list, but that will make him resistant as well. Playing on his self-worth issues and need to please a stronger male figure (read: daddy issues) is an easier route to faster obedience.
What is your character's taste in art, and what does that say about them?: Dean hasn't had a lot of use for art. He likes films a lot (even ones that aren't Die Hard). He's got the art taste of someone who would never find time to sit down and study it or wander around a museum. His art comes in two hour bursts on pay-per-view. He's not dumb, just uneducated. He could learn if motivated to.
Is there anything in particular you want him to figure out?: Dean's drive to please authority figures makes him a hell of a sub once he trusts (or is under the dubious control of) a dom.
Is there anything you do not want him to figure out? Nothing that would be readily apparent. He won't want to talk about his time in Hell or his torture apprenticeship, but if he's ever sleeping in Thrawn's presence, he could be witness to nightmares that come from it.
Anything else?: I think that's it. :D

Your Character: Sherlock Holmes

Canon: Sherlock BBC

What appearance/behavioral cues might Thrawn be able to pick up on?:

All of his clothing is designer of some sort or another, and yet he still manages to look like a Bohemian hobo. He's certainly a sharper dresser than his Victorian counterpart, but there are definitely eccentricities about his clothing, (such as having one red button hole on his Belstaff coat), that throw off his otherwise conservative appearance. He tends to wear things that most men really don't in this day and age, like his blue dressing gown, which could be an easy clue to his bizarre tendencies. But his clothing won't really reveal that much, as he probably goes out of his way to prevent people from easily picking up clues about him, because he does this so often with other people.

Despite being thin as a rake, Sherlock isn't a weak character. He probably won't flinch if threatened, which could lead to the assumption that he's prepared if someone attempts to attack him. It's very hard to arouse a reaction from Sherlock.

His behaviour, on the other hand, is a completely different story. It's debatable just what personality disorders the man has, could be Aspergers, could be Schizoid, could be Sociopathy, whatever it is, something about the way he interacts with others is off. His speech is abrupt and abrasive. He usually only says/texts what is necessary and there's not really much of a natural flow to his conversation. He talks at people, rather than to them. He had the tendency to zone out for hours, only to come to and realise the person he was just talking to left an hour ago.

When he doesn't have his nicotine fix, he can be erratic, anxious, easily angered. This is probably the prime time for Thrawn to pick up on his addictive personality, or when he's involved in a dangerous situation, he seems to get more excited than usual. He'll do absolutely anything to stop being bored. He's easily excitable over the things he's interested, and tends to go off on obsessive tangents about things that interest him, which is almost always something having to do with a crime.

So you're free to have Thrawn figure out he's a detective as well, though Sherlock will probably outright tell him so.

What are some ways that are especially effective in manipulating your character?:

As stated above, he will do anything to get his fix, and since he's long since sworn off of drugs, this usually involves hurling himself into dangerous situations. Promise him a bit of excitement, a suicide, a murder, and he'll be all over it. He also has an enormous ego, and when challenged, he can't really help but defend himself, usually by demonstrating his intellectual prowess. It's fairly easy to get information out of him regarding a case or anything he's observed by challenging this.

Also, John. His best friend (arguably only friend?) and flat mate, when someone threatens John, Sherlock will lay his life down on the line. He will remain stolid on the exterior but if push came to shove and someone was really threatening John's life, Sherlock would definitely be willing to compromise to save him, despite the fact he's claimed he 'doesn't have a heart'.

Sherlock has a problem with naïvety, despite constantly being exposed to the most horrible sides of humanity. It's fairly easy to use him for grand, evil purposes if things are presented to him in the way of a game, or entertainment, and if he's prevented from seeing the bigger picture. Once he's handed a case, or if he thinks there's a mystery to be solved, he will plug away at it with his blinders on until it's solved, which can end disastrously.

What is your character's taste in art, and what does that say about them?:

Honestly, Sherlock couldn't care less about art. Unless it has to do with something stolen or it's a piece of evidence in a murder/suicide/kidnapping/etc, it really doesn't matter to him. Music, on the other hand, is one of his great joys. In the novels, he has a Stradivarius violin, ones that sell for over a couple million quid today. In the series, he appears to be using this violin, not nearly as expensive, but still a few thousand quid. I haven't decided which one he'll actually have, probably something more expensive than what was used on the set, since it was revealed the music produced in the series wasn't produced on the German violin, but probably not a Stradivarius, since there's less than 650 of them in the world today.

I note this because the violin is where Sherlock expresses his soul, his feelings, everything about himself. If Thrawn hears him play, he should be able to immediately discern that Sherlock's whole "I don't have feelings" bit is total bollocks, as everything he plays is deeply evocative of emotion. He has a preference for Bach, as well, and baroque music in general.

Is there anything in particular you want him to figure out?:

This is entirely up to you. But I wouldn't mind him commenting on the violin playing at some point, being able to pick out a few things about the way Sherlock feels, if he can get into his head like that, make those observations. You're free to use any of the emotions described in my action tags, as I'll probably be using a lot of them.

Is there anything you do not want him to figure out?

Yes, actually: his feelings when they're not being expressed through the violin, or if John's being threatened. He's fairly capable at hiding them, despite not really understanding them, and he's pretty much always stoic and reserved, and has a pretty damn fine pokerface. Anxiety or fear is also very difficult to pick off of him, unless he's been drugged.

Anything else?: Don't think so! I'll tell you if anything comes up. c:

Your Character: Mello
Canon: Death Note
What appearance/behavioral cues might Thrawn be able to pick up on?: Mello wears leather and has scarring (from burns) on most of the left side of his face. He carries himself with confidence and has a tendency to take up a lot of space when he is sitting down. From this, Thrawn can likely gather that what Mello lacks in size (because he is slender and could be seen as unassuming), he makes up for in attitude and clothing. He may be able to pick up on the fact that Mello has a little bit of an inferiority complex going on, too, after some interaction.

He wears rosary beads and a small cross-adorned bracelet in canon, both of which he will have in Ariel. Due to a couple of manga panels that show Mello in all his mafia glory with an altar (statue of Mary, crosses) in the background, I play him as somewhat religious — though it's more of a wanting to believe than an actual solid belief, if that makes sense. Given his morally gray leanings, he is not incredibly devout, but I imagine he does suffer a little Catholic angst. His rosary beads have sentimental value, and Thrawn is free to come to those conclusions too if you think he would, but Mello will not be happy about that.

I am totally okay with Thrawn coming to the conclusion that Mello may have (had) criminal dealings/affiliations/etc. I am also totally okay with him picking up on the fact that Mello's morals are a little skewed, etc. etc.

What are some ways that are especially effective in manipulating your character?: It'll be a little bit of a challenge to manipulate Mello. I hesitate to say impossible because he is human, but he has been trained to assess people/situations/etc. and is a skilled manipulator himself in canon (he managed to manipulate the mafia into doing his bidding, pretty much)...Threats won't work, stroking his ego won't work. I think the only way to really get him in that regard would be to use anything personal relating to his goal (catching one particular serial killer back home, being number one) or anything personal Thrawn can draw out. It'll likely take some build up and Mello will try to best Thrawn if he figures out that Thrawn is trying to manipulate him.
What is your character's taste in art, and what does that say about them?: Mello is used to living lightly so that he can move when he needs to. I honestly don't see him as decorating his apartment because his opinion will be that he is going to leave asap and therefore there's no point in decorating. This may change later, but for now just blank walls and no art...from which Thrawn can probably get the sense that Mello is pretty much ready to leave Ariel as soon as opportunity provides.

ETA I almost forgot this but he does have a gun that is cross-adorned and a bracelet that is also cross-adorned...so there's that!
Is there anything in particular you want him to figure out?: Nothing in particular but I'd be excited to have him and Mello interact since it sounds like Thrawn can offer Mello a challenge (and maybe even best him!).
Is there anything you do not want him to figure out? Not that I can think of!
Anything else?: Mello really likes chocolate. A lot.

Your Character: Ba'al
Canon: Stargate
What appearance/behavioral cues might Thrawn be able to pick up on?: Very calculating and very careful about his appearance.
What are some ways that are especially effective in manipulating your character?: Ba'al is pretty... on the ball when he's being manipulated. It's better to cut a deal with him rather than subtly manipulate him which would take more work. He does respond to offers he can't refuse that would gain power or money.
What is your character's taste in art, and what does that say about them?:
Modernish and abstract. He often just adopts the art of what ever culture he's taken a fancy to. In this case its 21st Century Earth. He likes simple and clean lines. A kind of organized chaos. All this says a great deal but mostly reflects his feelings toward Earth and his need for order and control. With himself in control, obviously.
Is there anything in particular you want him to figure out?:
Not in particular. He might catch on that Ba'al wants to be in control of everything ever.
Is there anything you do not want him to figure out? I'm iffy on figuring out he's an alien. It can happen and I might be willing to have him figure it out in the future if it comes up.
Anything else?:
MY ego is bigger. :|

Since I'm about to tag you...

Your Character: Poison Ivy
Canon: Batman: the Animated Series
What appearance/behavioral cues might Thrawn be able to pick up on?: Ivy usually wears a leafy green costume, basically a swimsuit, or failing that very utilitarian clothes - she doesn't usually care much about fashion. She's much more relaxed and at ease when she's near plants. She very clearly knows how to use her body and is comfortable in her own skin. If he's particularly perceptive and presses the right buttons, he might be able to pick up the occasional blip as Ivy's mask slips - she's very good at lying and subterfuge, but can be drawn into showing her true emotions with enough pressure.

What are some ways that are especially effective in manipulating your character?: Threatening plants, but while that will get her to obey it will also make her furious and inclined to try to find him and rip him apart as soon as possible. Funnily enough, trust and love are Ivy's two biggest weak spots: someone who trusts her not to harm them, who loves her despite who and what she is, will be able to wrap her around their little finger.

What is your character's taste in art, and what does that say about them?: Plants are Ivy's art. She prefers them wild and free, with only the faintest touch of the gardener's hand to ensure they're at their healthiest and strongest.

Is there anything in particular you want him to figure out?: Nope!

Is there anything you do not want him to figure out? Nothing I can think of right now, but I'll tell you if anything looks like it will come up.

Anything else?: Nope :D

Your Character: Pepper Potts
Canon: MCU
What appearance/behavioral cues might Thrawn be able to pick up on?: She dresses as a sort of armor, with heels to add to her height and well-tailored pieces to guard against upsets. Casual dress, she is very trusting.
What are some ways that are especially effective in manipulating your character?: she is pretty insecure out her appearance, and in keeping Tony's interest.
What is your character's taste in art, and what does that say about them?: she was the curator for Tony's collection of art (spending over ten years on building it). She enjoys art, with good taste and excellent knowledge of periods and artists.
Is there anything in particular you want him to figure out?: Nothing so far, other than art being a common factor.
Is there anything you do not want him to figure out? Her feelings for Tony. She may look like an open book, but she doesn't like people telling her that.
Anything else?: She cannot lie worth a damn. Or play poker. If anything else comes up, I'll poke you~!

Your Character: Arthur!
Canon: Inception
What appearance/behavioral cues might Thrawn be able to pick up on?: Arthur is exceedingly bland, so in terms of what Thrawn might be able to perceive from him, he just doesn't put a lot out there. In general, though, that he's rarely entirely honest when he answers personal questions, and that he's often polite but not necessarily sincere. Obviously, from his dress and manners, he's extremely fastidious and concerned with appearance.
What are some ways that are especially effective in manipulating your character?: Arthur is pretty damn hard to manipulate. Ariadne is probably his only weak spot in Ariel currently, and he's tetchy about his past, but that's something he's not going to hand out information on.
What is your character's taste in art, and what does that say about them?: Arthur and art. You are asking for an lecture here; I'll try to keep it brief. Early on, they drop a hint that Arthur is partial to the modernists and post-modernists, particularly Francis Bacon. Dark, bleak, depressing, abstract works that generally depict humans as shattered, incomplete or warped creatures. Moving into the realm of non-portraiture, he likes illusions and mathematical art. Fractal art, Pollack, Escher's architectural lithographs, and so on. He like rendering impossible forms in three dimensions using dreamsharing technology.
Is there anything in particular you want him to figure out?: He's welcome to notice Arthur's preoccupation with wealth, especially in dreams. His clothes, his art, all of it comes with a hefty price tag.
Is there anything you do not want him to figure out? No, but if I think of anything I'll let you know.
